Throughout Advent we will collect comfort items such as soft socks, lotion, blankets, and stuffed animals for our neighbors at Rose Glen Manor. These items will be collected in the children's wagon beginning December 1st in the Commons and distributed at a very special gathering on Sunday, December 15th.
We are excited to launch our new Mission and Vision statements and Core Values with special Adult Forums in the Chapel during Advent from 9:20-10:15 am:
Sunday, December 8th: Inclusive, led by Carl Elledge
Sunday, December 15th: Generous, led by Tana Myers

Once again, we are asking you to step us as hosts to Mary and Joseph as we all journey toward Christmas. “Posadas” can mean "inn" or, in this case, lodging. Las Posadas is a traditional Latin-American nine-day celebration beginning December 16 and ending December 24. It is a yearly tradition and symbolizes the challenges which Mary and Joseph faced before finding a place to stay where Jesus could be born. It is based on a passage in the New Testament, the Gospel of Luke (2:1-9). Each night a different family hosts Mary and Joseph. Here at St. Paul's, we will join in this tradition. Each family or person is asked to take Mary and Joseph into their home by saying a short welcome liturgy provided for you. You can take them where ever you go that night: to sports practice, your favorite coffee shop, to your dinner table. Imagine what they would have talked about, worried about, celebrated.
You then make arrangements to pass them on to the next family. On Christmas Eve they will make their way to church and into the sanctuary for our 6:00 family Christmas celebration. Sign up in the Commons to host Mary and Joseph for the night.
Holy Eucharist with Healing with be held in the Chapel at 5:30pm. Dinner will begin at 6:00pm in the Parish House. Join us for dinner, we will provide the ham, you bring the sides! There will be crafts and a special visit from Saint Nicholas!
We will meet in the Parish House at 5:00pm to create comfort care packages and sing through some Christmas carols together. We will then travel to Rose Glen Manor in North Wilkesboro to gather with residents, sing carols, and share the gift of comfort with our neighbors. Everyone is invited to join us! RSVP to Rachel.
On Saturday, December 14th, we are partnering with the Wilkes Family YMCA for a fun & fabulous Community Christmas event in the Parish House! For more information, contact Rachel.
