Children, Youth, and Families


Our nursery opens each Sunday morning at 10:15am and remains open through the 10:30am Eucharist service. It is located on the lower level of our main church building. The nursery is attended by church volunteers and serves infants-4 year olds.

Sunday School

Sunday school classes meet each Sunday from 9:30am to 10:15am during the traditional school year – September through May.

Children who are aged 3-8 meet for Sunday school to learn about Bible stories through hands-on activities and stories. This class meets in the lower level of the Parish House.

Our older children and youth meet in the lower level of the Parish House and use a variety of curriculums which focus on stories from the Old and New Testaments, exploring the lives of people who were called by God, and discovering saints throughout the years.  


Students grade 6-12 are invited to participate in Youth group activities. Youth group is scheduled on varying Sundays during the month. Activities are planned and ameal is provided each meeting with time to fellowship together during the meal. Topics are generally based on youth interests and include both Biblical topics and current events. We attend WNC Diocean Youth Events such as Fall Conference, Beginning in the Middle, Spring Conference, and SPLASH! 

Family Events

Family events are scheduled throughout the year. Some of the events that we enjoy together are our annual Parish Retreat, baseball games, and caroling together at local nursing homes.

Nursery Position Available

Position Title: Nursery Worker Part Time

Summary of Basic Duties: To provide supervision of the Nursery on Sunday mornings; to properly maintain the good order of the Nursery; to lead age appropriate Christian formation activities provided by the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries and, to ensure that sufficient supplies are on hand at all times. 

  • This position is subject to all canons of the Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Western North Carolina regarding conditions of employment.
  • Provide a safe environment for children from infants through 3 years old on Sunday mornings from 9:15am to 12:15pm
  • To ensure that adequate supplies are available in the Nursery at all times
  • To leave the Nursery in good order each Sunday
  • To report to the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries when supplies need to be purchased or when the room needs maintenance or extra cleaning
  • If this person is unable to be here on a Sunday morning, they are to contact the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries who will get a substitute for them
  • Must be certified in Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training and have certification on file in the Church Office and submit to a background check (Time required for this training will be compensated at $12/hr)
  • Share all pastoral information with the Rector, otherwise confidentiality is to be maintained.

This position is supervised by the Rector

This position pays $36.00 per session, paid at the end of the month.
There are no vacation, sick days or other benefits provided.
